Lyn & Cooper
Lyn Tran (of Draw&Explore) is a longtime, long-distance friend of our human Nicole! They first connected over a love of lettering. Nicole featured Lyn in the 3rd volume of TYPOgraphJournal and they stayed intouch via social media (and lovely lettered snail mail) since. So we are thrilled to welcome Lyn and her adorable three-legged pal Cooper to our pack.

We follow a lot of talented artists and makers on Instagram - but Leesa Pertsinidis portraits always demand attention in our social feeds. Each demonstrates a masterful command of light, and a sensitivity to detail. Leesa does a wonderful job of capturing spirit of the people and pooches she draws. We caught up to learn more about her artistic practice and her love of wire haired fox terriers.

We spoke to Barry (aka @speculatype) to learn more about how he redefines the typographic landscape and his relationship with his four-legged pal Eli.

In our latest WalkThe_Talk profile we meet creative Duo Byron and Maggie Griffin. After loosing two beloved pets in quick succession these talented makers began to memorialise pets in chain stitch embroidery, with a vintage singer sewing machine.
Art Johnstone
Art Johnstone is a multidisciplinary creative based in Waihi (NZ). He taught design technology in the UK and NZ, and has recently retired from teaching to focus on prose, which he publishes online at https://foolonthehills.com/. Art is writing his first book, and also cuts poetry into plywood artworks which he distributes at Bay of Plenty cafes.

Illustrator and Letterer Kate Pullen’s work is smart, fun and full of heart, in 2018 Kate hosted an exhibition “The A to Z of Things I’ve Pulled Out of My Dog’s Mouth” which combined 3 of my favourite things type, art and dogs. I have been enthusiastically following Kate’s relationship with her handsome English Staffie Vinnie since.
In April this year, Kate released her first book: “I am about to Lick your Human” a staggeringly well-executed illustrated compendium of all things dog-related. Kate demonstrates and intimate knowledge of the collective canine brain with their personality traits (& reasoning) explored in detail alongside fun, honest reflections on dog parenthood.
Wanissa & Dapper Pupper
Wanissa Somsuphangsri is a designer, illustrator and letterer based in Melbourne, our human (Nicole) has been a fan of Wanissa’s lettering work for sometime, recently, a mutual friend (Maria Montes) alerted us to Wanissa’s latest project Dapper Pupper “born out of our love for dogs and an appreciation of all things handmade.
Nahila & Lolo
Artist, Fashion Designer and Dog mama Nahila Cuesta’s pet portraiture business Pawlander began with a need to raise funds to help pay for emergency veterinary costs for a family members cat. Her artwork has huge momentum and a growing following of fans on social media.

Betty McCready is an illustrator, designer, dog lover and the talent behind Hipster Animals. I admire the character each of her animal portraits conveys and I caught up more to learn about her creative practice and her canine muse Frank.
